11D10N Northern Xinjiang Tour
- Day 1 : Transfer in – Umuqi
Meet at Urumqi Airport, transfer to the Hotel. Urumqi is the capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region , as well as the political ,economic and cultural center. The region is the home of 47 ethnic nationalities. It’s the biggest province of China . - Day 2 Urumqi – Burjin
(S21 desert highway, pass by Wulungu lake, Multicoloured Bay, fish night market)
Today we’ll drive along the newly-built desert highway across the Kurban Tonggut Desert in the Jungar basin –the 2nd biggest basin in the region. En route we’ll drive pass the Wulungu lake.Upon arrival in Burjin,we’ll visit the Multi-colored Bay – located at the banks of the Ertish River, which is listed as one of the 100 scenes of Northwestern China. In the evening visit the Burjin Fish BBQ night market. - Day 3 Burjin – Hemu- Jiadengyu Hemu Village , Tuwa ethnic village, observation platform)
Hemu is famous for its beautiful scenery. Its Virgin forests and flowery grasslands combined with clear green water make the whole area a paradise. At the intersection of Kanas River and Hemu River lies the Hemu Grassland. It has been divided into two parts by the Hemu River running from northeast to southwest. Rare animals such as red deer, marmot and snowcocks live peacefully with cows and sheep. Hemu Village is one of the three residences of the Tuva Mongol in China.Then drive to Jiadengyu and check-in the hotel. - Day 4 Jiadengyu – Kanas Lake – JIadengyu
(Kanas Lake, Dragon Bay ,Crescent Moon Bay, Celestial Bay , Fish Observing Pavilion)
In the morning drive to Kanas Lake, en route visit the Dragon Bay, Celestial Bay and Crescent Moon Bay . Kanas means beautiful ,rich and mysterious. It’s 24 km long and 2 km wide, the color changes from time to time , sometimes blue ,sometimes green…Enjoy the breathtaking scenery all around you , green grasses , thick forests, snow mountains …. There is a pavilion named Fish Watching Pavilion on the other bank of Kanas Lake. Because it is located on a hill, visitors can look down on the beautiful scenery of the whole area.In the afternoon drive to Burjin. - Day 5 Jiadengyu – Wuerhe (350 km )(Orho ghost city, Oil field)
After breakfast drive to Dushanzi. En route visit the several miles long oil fields full of oil derricks and nodding donkeys. Then visit the Ghost Town It is like an ancient city that was built in thousand years before. It is a workout of the nature during the passing years . - Day 6 Wuerhe – Karamay - Dushanzi (Dushanzi Grand Canyon ) 260 km
After breakfast drive to Dushanzi , In the afternoon visit the Dushanzi Grand Canyon , the Canyon ,20 km long, 2 km wide ,at an elevation of 1200m above sea level, is one of the biggest canyons in the Tianshan Mountains. The canyon is surrounded by three mountains ,and naturally formed by the rain. - Day 7 Dushanzi- Yining. 450km, 6hours. (Tianshan mountain economic belt, Sayram lake including shuttle bus tour, Wild Fruit Valley , Guozigou Bridge)
After breakfast drive to the Sayram Lake , which covers an area of 454 sq meters, surrounded by alpine meadows and rugged snow-capped mountains densely covered in fir, pine and cypress. Drive pass the Wild Fruit Valley and the newly built Bridge . - Day 8 Yining -Narat 270km, 3.5hours. ( Narat grassland+shuttle bus tour, river bed grassland)
Narat Grassland is one of the four biggest sub-mountain pastures in the world, and has been a renowned grazing land historically, The vast pasture stretches out for miles and buries into the dense forests, dotted with the Kazak Yurts. - Day 9 Narat - Yining 270km (Liuxing street, Kazanchi village, Horse cart)
After breakfast drive along the Kunes River to Yining. Upon arrival visit the Liuxing Street which is the old city part of Yining City, It was built between 1934-1936. It was the best place to explore the local life, take a Hadik horse cart and stroll around the Kazanchi Uighur Village, visit the Uighur family ,enjoy singing and dancing show. taste locally made ice cream. - Day 10 Yining – Urumqi by bullet train (International Grand Bazaar)
In the morning take a bullet train to Urumqi , in the afternoon visit the International Grand Bazaar – one of the biggest free market in the region .
